Kim Sanchez-Aldana Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a health area that involves the treatments of ailments related to muscles, bones, joints, and ligaments using a group of pain-free manual therapies. This is very comparable to chiropractic methods. Manual Osteopaths assess the condition of the musculo-skeletal system looking for areas of imbalance, weakness, imbalance and excessive strain. Those areas will have an influence on the general health of the whole body.
Kim's Background
Why did I became a Manual Osteopath?
My travel to this fascinating area started when I was studying Medicine in Mexico during 2001. I discovered that one of the principal reasons to visit a doctor was back pain and the treatment generally consisted of prescribed medication for reduction of pain; however, this did not treat or address what was actually causing the pain. I noticed this same scenario with many other conditions related to the musculoskeletal system. This predominant treatment method led me to search for other solutions. In 2003, I began studying Chiropractic techniques. Although this approach offered greater focus on the cause of the pain, I felt it was limited to treating only the specific problem area rather than viewing the pain from a holistic (whole body) approach. I felt strongly that the patient was a Bio-Psycho-Social person; that ailments in the mind (psycho), society (social), and body (bio) can be manifest in other parts of the body. In 2008 I discovered Osteopathy. Osteopathy offered a unique holistic (whole body) approach to health care which satisfied my search for effective treatment methods.
